Blayre Achieves Board Certification

AUSTIN (July 16, 2021) ­­− The Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) announced V. Blayre Peña received Board Certification in Civil Appellate Law. Ms. Peña currently practices in Round Rock, Texas, where she is part of VBPena Law.

Board Certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 25 specific areas of law. Board Certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination.

While there are over 93,000 lawyers licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, there are only 400 lawyers board certified in Civil Appellate Law. Ms. Peña is the only board certified lawyer in Civil Appellate law in Williamson County, and she appears to be the first one to obtain this special designation.

Ms. Peña was born and raised in Central Texas where she currently resides with her husband and two children. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tulsa – School of Law, and she has been practicing in Central Texas for over 15 years.
